Sydnie & Bryant – Engagement Session at The Dallas ArboretumDallas, TX

I am so excited to share Sydnie and Bryant’s engagement photos!  Because we live in Texas we had to reschedule their session several times due to crazy weather, but we finally got an amazingly beautiful day!  Speaking of crazy weather, they even had some on the day that Bryant proposed to Sydnie at the arboretum.  Here is their sweet proposal story!

“The week before the proposal, I asked Bryant what we were doing for my birthday the following Saturday. He asked if I wanted to see the 12 days of Christmas at the arboretum. Funny story we had gotten lunch with our friends before that, and they were explaining how my friends brother was planning to propose to his girlfriend at the arboretum the following Saturday (Bryant panicked at that moment but wanted to stick with his plan). The day of the proposal, the weather started to turn early afternoon. We planned originally to get to the arboretum at 3:00 but Bryant started rushing me as I was getting ready. This is when he started acting suspicious. He finally gets me in the car and we start driving to the arboretum. It began lightly sprinkling. I asked Bryant if we could reschedule because of the weather and he was insistent we go. We pulled into the parking lot and I told him I wouldn’t go in without an umbrella. He rushed into the gift shop and purchased an umbrella. We headed toward “Day 1” and looked at the display. There was a sign indicating day 2 was to the left, but Bryant pulled me to the right instead. We then started walking, silently, toward crepe myrtle alley. We headed down for aisle of trees and Bryant all of a sudden dove into his proposal speech. A photographer was waiting behind us capturing the moment!”

I had so much fun hanging out with these two and I can’t believe I have to wait an entire year for their wedding day!  I can already tell it is going to be amazing!

Christin & TJ – Engagement Session at the Dallas Arboretum & White Rock LakeDallas, Texas

These two travel for work and met while in Indiana.  They kept in touch and when Christin was re-located close by to TJ for work a few months later, these two started to date!  They love to travel and have a Dalmation named Jewels who made a guest appearance at their session!  Check out some of my favorite moments from their session!

Allison & Jacob – Engagement Session at The Kimbell Art Museum and Fort Worth Botanic GardensFort Worth, TX

Oh my goodness gracious!  These two are just so precious I just can’t even begin to explain just how cute they are!  Allison and Jacob met at OU and had a few classes together and ran with the same group of friends before getting together.  I love how Allison describes the proposal:

It was OU vs TCU weekend in Norman. Being from Fort Worth, my parents are big TCU fans so every time the two schools play each other we make sure we are in FW or Norman for the game. This year the game was in Oklahoma so I knew my parents and little sister who just recently graduated from OU as well were coming in town for the game. We had dinner plans at a fancy steak place downtown so I was all dressed up for that. Jacob had told me his parents had a banquet in Norman to go to so we were meeting up with them for drinks near campus. A little background here is that his parents don’t get out of the house often because they prefer to stay home and his mom is a great cook. His mom also works on campus so the fact that they were planning on attending a banquet on a Friday night presented a rare opportunity for us to meet up with them for a drink before going to dinner with my family. We drove to campus, parked, and then started walking. I got wrapped up in a story (you can probably already tell that I tend to ramble!) and just kept talking and walking. All of a sudden, Jacob stops and grabs my hands. All I can remember that he said was “This is where we met. This is where we fell in love. And this is where I ask you to be my wife.” and got down on one knee. And to top it all off, he had hired a photographer to capture the moment for us. I thought it was so sweet of him to do that because he knows how important stuff like that is to me. We ended up taking a mini photo shoot with this photographer around campus and then we were starving! The dinner at the steakhouse downtown hadn’t been real all along – we ended up at this cute local restaurant in Norman where he had rented out a room and coordinated for both of our families to be there for snacks and champagne to celebrate! He knocked it out of the park. It was everything I could have hoped for and more – the perfect place that will always hold a special meaning to both of us, someone there to sneakily capture the moment, both of our families, champagne, and frosted sugar cookies! Literally the best night of my life so far 🙂

Allison and Jacob lucked out with the perfect day for their engagement session and were so giggly and sweet.  I absolutely cannot wait for their big day this fall!

Allyssa & Stuart – Engagement at TCU Campus & Downtown Fort WorthFort Worth, Texas

These two braved the cold for their session on TCU campus!  They both graduated from TCU so of course we had to start their session there! After exploring campus we headed downtown for more pictures.  These two were as sweet as can be, and I can’t wait for their wedding!

Wendy & Aaron – Engagement Session at Airfield Waterfall and Modern Art MuseumFort Worth, TX

I’ve known Aaron & Wendy for a little while now and I’ve been able to see their relationship grow from the start. With that said, I was super excited when they told me they were engaged and even more excited when they asked me to take their engagement photos. They are a perfect pair! They were great together when adventuring down rock walls and through cold water with me (to get the right shot!), even though it was pretty chilly outside. I am looking forward to photographing them on their wedding day!

Claudia & Patrick – Engagement Session at Japanese Gardens and Airfield WaterfallFort Worth, TX

How adorable are Claudia and Patrick??  Just the cutest, if you ask me!  One thing I like about Texas Decembers is that it still looks like fall!  We got ALL of the fall colors during their engagement session and it was absolutely fabulous.  Claudia and Patrick met while working together about 3 years ago.  Patrick is now in school in Alabama so they are having to do long distance for now.  They love traveling together so Patrick proposed to Claudia while they were on a trip to Canada. Here is their proposal story in her own words:

In order to appropriately celebrate our summer together in 2017, we decided to take a long weekend trip together to Canada. We found a good flight sale, and being the travel aficionados we are, a trip to Ottawa and Montreal was the perfect end to a great three months of being in the same city. Patrick was insanely sneaky, and it should be known that I had NO IDEA the entire time that he was planning everything in the background. We had dinner reservations (not suspicious since once again, we were celebrating the end of the summer), and Patrick suggested we stop by this university campus on our way to dinner. McGill University, is what I would describe as the “Harvard of Canada”. It is old-style, historical, “Hogwarts-y”, and filled with pretty flowers. We walked around in massive circles because Patrick wanted to find this one cool entrance. We were on vacation, and I was super relaxed, so the fact that we were for some reason walking in circles to find this one particular spot didn’t even seem to bother me or raise any sort of questions. When we finally found the entrance, we walked together up this long walk-way to the main building with a beautiful flower garden in front that looked like a heart (really it was McGill’s crest, but it looked like a heart to me). When we got to the top, Patrick got down on one knee, and despite the fact that I think I blacked out in shock and unfortunately couldn’t tell you the exact words that came out of his mouth, it was the sweetest and most beautiful question he has ever asked me. Of course, after multiple “omg’s” and tears, I said yes!

They will be getting married next year and I cannot wait for their big day!  It is sure to be a blast!

Brynn & Michael – Engagement Session at Private Residence and Elemental YogaFort Worth, TX

I loved Brynn and Michael’s engagement session!!  We started off at Brynn’s parents home.  They have a beautiful back yard and this is also where they will be getting married next year!  Brynn and Michael are very into yoga, and I love that they wanted to incorporate that into their session.  They had some pretty sweet poses and I love that it is something that they enjoy doing together.  It makes the photos just that much more special.  It was so much fun hanging with these two and seeing what they love to do together.  I am so excited for their wedding next year!

Sarah & Nick – Engagement Session in Downtown Fort Worth and Magnolia AveFort Worth, TX

Sarah and Nick met while in the marching band at TCU.  Since TCU is such a special part of their relationship, Nick chose to incorporate it into his proposal!  Here is how he did it in Sarah’s own words.

“I knew it was coming, but Nick surprised me with making it happen earlier than I thought it would be. He told me that we were going out for a surprise dinner downtown but wouldn’t say anything else. When I asked what I should wear, I started getting suspicious because he responded, “Your green shirt, blue flower pants, orange shoes, Kendra Scott earrings, and pearls!” We got in the car, and he blindfolded me, and we started driving to the TCU stadium. Much to his amusement, I was still able to tell all the roads we were turning onto, so he had to take a more convoluted route. We got out of the car, and still blindfolded, I was led into the stadium. I only figured out where we were when I heard a golf cart go by. He took me to the band section, as that was where we spend a good portion of our time together, and he had the whole area decorated. He un-blindfolded me and handed me a book that he had written and had illustrated and printed. It was a poem of our story with the last page being the proposal!! I said, “Yes!”

Not only did they meet and get engaged at TCU but they will also be getting married there next year!  I cannot wait for their big day!

Patricia & Jacob – Engagement Session at Airfield Waterfall and Japanese GardensFort Worth, TX

Oh my good gracious!! Patricia and Jacob are the absolute cutest!  I can’t even express how much fun I had with these two.  We started early in the morning which I don’t normally get to do but it ended up being just perfect.  Patricia and Jacob have so much chemistry and were complete naturals in front of the camera.  They were giggly, kissy, sweet and just plain CUTE.  I cannot wait for their wedding next year!

Hollis & Joe – Engagement Session at Shady Oaks Country Club and Trinity Trails WaterfallFort Worth, TX

My goodness Hollis and Joe are so cute!  And so much fun!  For their engagement session we started out at Shady Oaks Country Club, where Hollis’ family are members.  Joe is also really into golf, so it was incredibly fitting.  I loved getting to hang out with these two.  The whole session was full of smiles and laughter and was just too fun.  We finished up over at the waterfall on Trinity Trails where we got to do a little climbing.  I’m always so happy when my couples are willing to be a little adventurous and climb around barefoot on rocks and through water with me.  It makes for some pretty amazing photos!  I cannot wait for these two to get hitched in April.  I have no doubt that it will be a great party!
