Jessica & Rob – Engagement Session in Sundance Square and the StockyardsFort Worth, TX

I loved getting to know Jessica and Rob during their engagement shoot downtown and in the stockyards.  They laughed the whole time, even though it was quite warm, which was very sweet!  Here’s how they met:

“We met 5 years ago (April 2013) in Addison, Texas at Sherlocks. Rob is the guitarist for an 80s cover band called the Mullet Boyz and I was out with one of my friends – thought he was cute, so we stuck around and watched the show. Afterward we talked for a bit and exchanged numbers. A week later, he was playing another show in the area and invited me to come out – and rest is history!”

I can’t wait for their wedding next year!

Hollis & Joey – Wedding Reception at The Modern Art MuseumFort Worth, TX

Hollis and Joey and all of their friends really know how to party.  Once the dancing began, it didn’t stop!  I think one of my favorite dancing moments was when Joey and all of his groomsmen did a little performance to a Back Street Boys song and then Hollis joined in right at the end.  There is also a tradition in Hollis’ family of playing the ZZ Top song, “La Grange”.  They had an inflatable alligator and all ended up dancing and rolling on the dance floor.  I’m not quite sure of the story behind this tradition but it was so much fun to watch!  Hollis and Joey danced up a storm with their friends and family and at the end of the night were sent off with streamers and a ride in a friend’s classic Mercedes.  I am so excited to share this fun wedding.  Congratulations to Hollis and Joey!

Lindsey & Kurt – Getting Ready & Ceremony at Robert Carr ChapelFort Worth, Texas

Lindsey & Kurt are both graduates from TCU and when I first met them, I knew they would have a great wedding.  They day started off with Lindsey getting ready at the new venue, the 4 Eleven, which is amazing!  Lindsey and her dad shared a sweet first look in the courtyard where she received a beautiful pearl bracelet from her dad.  The couple got married at Robert Carr chapel surrounded by friends and family and even had a saber exit after the ceremony!  After they said farewell to guests they hopped into a vintage car that drove us to the stadium to get a few pictures before the reception.  Check out a few of my favorite pictures from the first part of their day!

Hallie & Nathan – Ceremony at First United Methodist Church in Fort WorthFort Worth, Texas

Hallie and Nathan got married on a surprisingly chilly Spring day!   These two love to travel together and started their biggest adventure yet! Here is their fun proposal story :

” We both love golfing, hiking and going on adventures, so we went to Hot Springs, AK for a little summer getaway. On the third day of our vacation, as we were walking on a cool path that overlooked the main drag downtown and decided that would be a good spot to pop down on one knee. He said really sweet things and of course, I said “yes””

Check out some of my favorite moments from the first part of their day!

Allison & Jacob – Engagement Session at The Kimbell Art Museum and Fort Worth Botanic GardensFort Worth, TX

Oh my goodness gracious!  These two are just so precious I just can’t even begin to explain just how cute they are!  Allison and Jacob met at OU and had a few classes together and ran with the same group of friends before getting together.  I love how Allison describes the proposal:

It was OU vs TCU weekend in Norman. Being from Fort Worth, my parents are big TCU fans so every time the two schools play each other we make sure we are in FW or Norman for the game. This year the game was in Oklahoma so I knew my parents and little sister who just recently graduated from OU as well were coming in town for the game. We had dinner plans at a fancy steak place downtown so I was all dressed up for that. Jacob had told me his parents had a banquet in Norman to go to so we were meeting up with them for drinks near campus. A little background here is that his parents don’t get out of the house often because they prefer to stay home and his mom is a great cook. His mom also works on campus so the fact that they were planning on attending a banquet on a Friday night presented a rare opportunity for us to meet up with them for a drink before going to dinner with my family. We drove to campus, parked, and then started walking. I got wrapped up in a story (you can probably already tell that I tend to ramble!) and just kept talking and walking. All of a sudden, Jacob stops and grabs my hands. All I can remember that he said was “This is where we met. This is where we fell in love. And this is where I ask you to be my wife.” and got down on one knee. And to top it all off, he had hired a photographer to capture the moment for us. I thought it was so sweet of him to do that because he knows how important stuff like that is to me. We ended up taking a mini photo shoot with this photographer around campus and then we were starving! The dinner at the steakhouse downtown hadn’t been real all along – we ended up at this cute local restaurant in Norman where he had rented out a room and coordinated for both of our families to be there for snacks and champagne to celebrate! He knocked it out of the park. It was everything I could have hoped for and more – the perfect place that will always hold a special meaning to both of us, someone there to sneakily capture the moment, both of our families, champagne, and frosted sugar cookies! Literally the best night of my life so far 🙂

Allison and Jacob lucked out with the perfect day for their engagement session and were so giggly and sweet.  I absolutely cannot wait for their big day this fall!

Kendall & Collin – Reception at the Stonegate MansionFort Worth, Texas

And then it was time to party!  After the newly married couple entered the room, they had their sweet first dance followed by some toasts.  Kendall, Collin, and all of the guests weren’t shy to get on the dance floor!  Check out some of my favorite moments from the reception!

Lindsay & Keith – Wedding Ceremony at Marty Leonard ChapelFort Worth, TX

I absolutely love this couple.  Lindsay and Keith are so much fun and know how to make you laugh.  A few minutes with them will brighten your day significantly.  Back when I photographed their engagement session they told me the story of how they met and it is one of the best I’ve heard in a long time! Since I would not be able to do their story justice, Lindsay describes it in her own words:

“Keith and I met at orientation for new jobs at RSM in November of 2014 (Keith in cyber security consulting and me in international tax). Keith introduced himself to me by saying “Hi, I’m Keith Swiat. Not to be confused with Keith Sweat, the R&B singer.” It was 8 in the morning and I had no idea who Keith Sweat was. I sat as far away from him as possible at orientation.  Finally, his resilience and my piqued interest led to a friendly lunch outing where all of our interactions culminated in him: 1) forgetting his umbrella and accepting my offer to share 2) him not realizing he should carry it until I pointed out my arm going numb and my calves cramping from standing on my tiptoes to hold it over his head and 3) Keith informing me he felt like an encased meat as he took the first bite of his meatball sub at my favorite lunch spot (Park Italian). I wasn’t quite sure I liked him until I caught him sniffing me in the coffee shop a week later. His boldness and put himself out there attitude is what I really love about him. Our relationship is built on questionable social behavior and both of us having a great sense of humor.”

Let’s be honest, you know you have met the woman you’re going to marry when she catches you sniffing her and finds it charming.  It was love at first sniff.  Anyway, I was so happy that they chose me to photograph their big day and that I had the chance to get to know this amazing couple!

Amanda & Aaron – Getting Ready & Ceremony at The OrchardAzle, Texas

I have been looking forward to this wedding for a while now!  Amanda and Aaron are both band teachers (believe it or not but they are not my first band teacher couple) so I knew this would be a good crowd!  Although they didn’t see each other before the ceremony, they were able to hold hands around a door, which is one of my favorite things a couple can do if they choose to not do a first look.

A cold front came through just in time for their winter wedding, and boy was it chilly.   The cold didn’t phase them, however!  Check out some of my favorite moments from their ceremony!

Allyssa & Stuart – Engagement at TCU Campus & Downtown Fort WorthFort Worth, Texas

These two braved the cold for their session on TCU campus!  They both graduated from TCU so of course we had to start their session there! After exploring campus we headed downtown for more pictures.  These two were as sweet as can be, and I can’t wait for their wedding!
