Carita & DeShawn – Wedding Reception at Texas Discovery Gardens

Carita and DeShawn have such wonderful and talented families and friends, that it was only natural that they include them in lots of unique ways during both their wedding ceremony and reception at Texas Discovery Gardens. DeShawn’s dad sang during their first dance, for instance, and the couple’s bridal party, including their children, took turns giving heartfelt and funny speeches. Even the getaway car held special meaning for the couple, as it was the baby blue 1967 Firebird convertible the bride’s parents drove when she was a child. It’s since been lovingly restored by her best friend and her husband, who played chauffeur for them at the end of the night!

After dinner, loved ones of all ages kept the dance floor crowded, which made for a lot of fun. I like to think that the donut and cake buffet helped, by keeping everyone fueled through the evening. To thank everyone for their support, the couple hired an amazing caricature artist to create unique “portraits” for their guests, which might just be my favorite favor yet.

It really was such a wonderful day, and I’m so thankful I got to be part of it. Carita & DeShawn you are absolutely lovely together, and I can’t wait to see what great things the future holds for you and your family!

Carita & DeShawn – Wedding Ceremony at Texas Discovery GardensDallas, Texas

Carita & DeShawn didn’t let a little rain stop them from enjoying their wedding day at Texas Discovery Gardens. Instead, they were beaming with joy at the fact that they got to commit their lives to one another – and eat cake! – all while surrounded by the support of their family and friends, who were super involved in the entire day.

Both Carita’s daughters and DeShawn’s sons served in the bridal party and helped them get ready. The youngest two even got to carry their rings. Carita also chose to be walked down the aisle by both her mother and grandmother, which was so sweet it had many of the guests in tears. Carita’s dad officiated the ceremony, which helped make it all the more special for them.

Even their choice of venue was personal, as Fair Park is where Carita’s grandmother worked for over thirty years, and where she spent a lot of time making memories as she was growing up. I think it’s so amazing that she and DeShawn got to make so many wonderful new memories together with their families in this same spot on their wedding day.

I really love when couples find ways to involve their closest friends and family, as it can help make the whole wedding day all the more meaningful and unique! And that was definitely the case with these two, and all the loved ones who helped make their wedding dreams a reality, rain and shine!

Thanks also to all of the wonderful vendors who helped make it such a beautiful day!

Morgan & Mitch – Reception at the Ashton DepotFort Worth, Texas

There wasn’t a person at this wedding who didn’t dance!  After the couple first dance and parent dances the band, The Pictures Band, brought the party!  My favorite moment is when Mitch goes crowd surfing after he and Morgan sang on stage with the band.  So fun!  Check out some of my other favorite moments from their reception.

Morgan & Mitch – Getting Ready and Ceremony at Robert Carr ChapelFort Worth, Texas

Morgan and Mitch met at frog camp for TCU several years ago, so of course they had their ceremony at the gorgeous Robert Carr Chapel!  The wedding took place on a warm, humid, Texas day.  Surrounded by friends and family these two said “I Do” before heading to their fun reception.  Take a look at some of my favorite moments included the sweet moment Morgan’s father and two brothers saw her in her dress for the first time! LOVE!

Sabrina & Bryan – Ceremony at Christ ChapelFort Worth, Texas

Sabrina and Bryan have the sweetest proposal story!  Here is how Sabrina says it happened:

“Bryan took me to St. Louis for a weekend to watch the total eclipse. After a few days in the city of sightseeing and being wined and dined, we went to a park in the city where we watched the eclipse. During the “diamond ring effect” stage of the eclipse, he got down on one knee and proposed!”

These two got married on a beautiful summer day here in Fort Worth!  Check out some of my favorite photos from their ceremony!

Nayane & Vitor – Ceremony and Reception at Hidden Pines ChapelFlower Mound, Texas

This wedding was such a beautiful day full of love, excitement, and fun Brazilian tradition!  These two tied the knot at Hidden Pines Chapel and had a beautiful ceremony in Portuguese.  After the ceremony they had a relaxed reception that included a fun Brazilian tradition of auctioning off a tie to raise money for the couple.  I enjoyed being able to photograph this sweet couple and I hope you enjoy some of my favorite moments!
