Jess and Bobby – Wedding at Piazza in the VillageColleyville, TX

Jess and Bobby are basically like my spirit animals.  Their love of sports and Harry Potter are enough to make me jump up and down with excitement.  Bobby proposed to Jess at the Rangers Ballpark and that’s where we took their engagement photos.  Jess surprised Bobby by taking her bridal portraits at Cowboys Stadium (AT&T Stadium) and their ring box looked like the 7th Harry Potter book.  I mean I geeked out a little getting to know these two!  Jess and Bobby were married at Piazza in the Village in Colleyville and they made sure to incorporate all of these things into their wedding.  They had “Always” written across the floor at the beginning of the aisle, and the ring bearers carried the Harry Potter ring box to surprise Bobby.  There was a lot of surprising Bobby throughout the day.  After the ceremony Jess gave Bobby his next surprise, which was a small canvas of one of her Dallas Cowboys bridal portraits.  It was so much fun to watch him open it.  Their reception was held in the ballroom and was lit with blue uplighting and red table linens (Rangers colors) and the grooms cake had the logos from the Stars, Rangers and Cowboys.  Their guests signed a baseball bat as they entered that would later hang in their house.  Once it was time for the toast, it was also time for another surprise.  Bobby knew his step-dad was prepared to give a toast, what he didn’t know was that he was going to make Bobby sing!  Apparently in his school days, Bobby played Danny in Grease.  Naturally, we all needed to see his performance and he absolutely killed it!  After that it was all about the dancing.  All of their guests loved to dance, but nobody as much as Jess and Bobby.  Those two had several dance-offs and threw out moves that I’d never before witnessed.  They definitely accomplished their goal of throwing a fun party!  But all good things must come to an end and while their guests lined up outside, Jess and Bobby had one last dance alone as newlyweds.  They then were sent off through a tunnel of pom poms and left for their honeymoon in Bora Bora.  I am so excited for them and am so glad that they chose me to capture their special day.  Congrats to Jess and Bobby!

Hannah and Kevin – Wedding Ceremony at The Ashton DepotFort Worth, TX

When you live in Texas, you expect the weather to be pretty unpredictable.  Hannah and Kevin started off their wedding day with a beautiful, bright and sunny morning.  It seemed as though everything was going perfectly according to plan.  We were even running early!  It was about 5 minute before the ceremony was supposed to start when the sideways, monsoon rain started.  Not to worry though!  The amazing staff at Ashton Depot plus the always brilliant Justine of Justine’s Flowers were quick on their feet and came to the rescue.  They transformed the dance floor into the ceremony space within just a few minutes and we were back on track.  Even though the ceremony didn’t happen outside the way it was originally planned, everything was still incredibly beautiful.  At the end of the day Hannah and Kevin were husband and wife, rain or shine.  It was a great day!  Check out some of my favorites from their ceremony and check back soon for their reception!

Lauren and Russell – Wedding Ceremony at Hickory Street AnnexDallas, TX

June in Texas is known for being pretty warm and the day before Lauren and Russell’s wedding was definitely a scorcher.  Luckily, their big day was cooled off by a little big of morning rain and some cloud coverage.  I loved getting to hang out with Lauren and her girls while they were getting ready.  Everyone was so chill and relaxed and just excited to be there!  Everything was just about as perfect as it could be (a big part of that is thanks to the amazing event coordinators, Maxwell + Grey!).  The bridesmaids wore beautiful gray dresses that brought out the nice green and blush colors of their flowers.  Lauren was absolutely stunning in her wedding dress that had a gorgeous illusion neckline.  I’m pretty sure she knocked Russell’s socks off when he saw her walking down the aisle toward him.  Lauren and Russell were married at Hickory Street Annex surrounded by many large windows, letting in rays of light and showing off the luscious greenery in the background, setting up the perfect scene.  As soon as they were pronounced husband and wife, Lauren threw her bouquet in the air in a fist pump of victory.  Please enjoy some of my favorites from their beautiful ceremony and check back for more from their rockin’ reception!

Brooke & Justin – Wedding Ceremony at the Lonestar MansionBurleson, Texas

When I met Brooke last year, I knew that her and Justin had something special.  These two drove into town for a engagement session where I was able to meet Justin and hang out with these two to get to know them better.  Let me tell you, there smiles were infectious and you could see their love for each other.  Walking in on their wedding day I was prepared for all the happy tears that I knew would happen!  These two chose to have an intimate, elegant ceremony and reception at the Lonestar Mansion surrounded by close friends and family.  The morning was filled with sweet moments between Brooke and her mom while Justin and his guys hung out.  As Brooke walked down the aisle, Justin had tears rolling down his face!  After their emotional ceremony we took some photos in front of the mansion with their fun bridal party before heading to the reception.  Check out some of my favorite moments!

Natalie and Robert – Wedding Ceremony at Robert Carr Chapel at TCUFort Worth, TX

I don’t think that I can truly describe the amount of emotion that Natalie and Robert’s big day actually had.  Not only for them and their families but for me as well!  I’ll just give you a hint by saying how excited I have been all year to photograph their engagements, then Natalie’s bridal and finally their wedding!  I was tearing up and full of emotion all day and then incredibly sad when it was over.  Now I am getting excited all over again because I get to share their amazing photos with the world!  Natalie and Robert are the kind of people that when you meet them, you are automatically friends.  I can’t tell you how happy it made me to talk to Natalie on the phone or through e-mail throughout the process of planning her wedding.  They both have this way of making everyone feel so special and loved, which made my job incredibly easy and more fun than it already is.  Natalie had the biggest smile on her face from the moment I arrived (and I’m sure before) to the moment they rode away in the carriage at the end of the night.  I know it was so hard for both of them to have to wait all day for the ceremony.  They both were so overcome with emotion, just waiting to finally get to see each other and become husband and wife.  Before the ceremony, the exchanged letters around a door.  As I placed Robert behind the door and told him I was going to get Natalie, he began to tear up knowing it was just minutes before he’d get to see her walk down the aisle.  As they finished reading each other’s notes, Natalie just started jumping up and down grinning ear to ear, so excited that the moment had finally arrived.  I don’t think I’ll ever forget the pure joy that was felt during their entire ceremony.  Afterward as they walked back up the aisle and out the chapel doors they just beamed at each other, jumping up and down, kissing, hugging and showing off their rings.  I cannot fully express how excited I am for these two.  Please enjoy my favorites from their Robert Carr ceremony and check back soon for their fun reception at The Fort Worth Club!

I have a special place in my heart for Aggies, and let me tell you, there were a lot of Aggies at this wedding!  Abbey’s eyes lit up when she talked about how her and Ben met in College Station and about how much she loves him.  Their first look was filled with smiles and total sweetness!  Check out some of my favorite moments from the first part of their day!

Melissa and Cody – Wedding at The OrchardAzle, TX

Melissa and Cody are married!  We started the day thinking the rain was going to keep us from being outside, but it did not!  Melissa and Cody chose to see each other before the ceremony and luckily it quit raining just in time!  They read notes they had written to each other and then Cody turned to see his bride for the first time and I think his breath may have literally been taken away.  They held the ceremony inside surrounded by their closest family and friends and said sweet vows to each other that made me tear up!  After they shared their first kiss, Cody smashed the glass (a Jewish tradition that they incorporated into their wedding) and they were on their way up the aisle as husband and wife!  Then it was time to celebrate and Melissa and Cody spent the rest of the evening enjoying chatting and dancing with all of the important people in their lives.  At the end of the night they spent one last dance together, taking in the day and each other.  They were then sent off to their new life through the glowing lights of sparklers.  Congratulations to Melissa and Cody!

Nicole & Jacob – Wedding Ceremony and Reception at the BRIKFort Worth, TX

Nicole & Jacob got married on a beautiful, if not slightly warm (Hello Texas!), day in Fort Worth.  I have had the privilege of shooting at BRIK before and I just love it.  With all the natural light and fun textures this is definitely a great space to get married.  She chose some great vendors to make this Texas themed wedding come alive.  The bridesmaids wore beautiful navy dresses that complimented the white, ivory, and light blue florals.  As the bride and groom kissed for the first time, family and friends rang cow bows!  How fun!  These two also had a very fun band play during their reception.  The Dick Beldings are a 90s cover band that one of the groomsman is a member of.  Not your average wedding band!  Check out some of my favorite moments from their wedding!

Erin and Colby – Wedding at Hollow HillWeatherford, TX

They say it’s good luck for it to rain on your wedding day.  Well, I say it’s even better luck for it to rain and then stop just in time for your outdoor ceremony!  That is exactly what happened for Erin and Colby.  It was raining off and on all morning and they were considering moving the ceremony inside, but it finally stopped and it was absolutely beautiful! The grass wasn’t even wet.  Erin looked stunning as she walked down the aisle arm in arm with her dad.  Her dress perfectly complimented her outdoor space and her boots were just the icing on the cake.  Colby teared up as he saw his bride walking toward him and when she arrived next to him, gave him the cutest smile.  With a backdrop of green trees behind them, they said their vows and became husband and wife!  It was the perfect setting.  Then it was time to party!  After dinner, the guests made their way into the barn for dancing and cake!  Erin and Colby spent the evening enjoying time with their friends and family just dancing until it was time for them to head out to begin their new life together!  Congratulations to Erin and Colby!

Sarah & Matthew – First Look & Ceremony at the Dallas ArboretumDallas, Texas

I had the opportunity to get to know these two during their engagement session a few months back in Dallas.  Engagement sessions are a great time for me to get to know my couples, how they met, and what they do for fun but during their session they kept asking questions about ME!  This blew me away and was just the start of getting to know their sweet and generous characters.  I knew their wedding day would be one full of laughter and joy!  These two chose to do a first look in one of the gardens at the Arboretum, and it was nothing short of great!  We had a lot of fun snapping some pictures before the wedding around some of the pretty places in the Arboretum.  They said “I Do” under a beautiful arbor decorated with flowers that one of their dad’s made.  The sun setting, the arbor, and the lush garden set the scene for their happy ceremony.  Check out some of my favorite moments from the first part of their day!
