There are many factors to consider when choosing your wedding venue. Are you wanting a church ceremony with your reception in another location? Do you want to hold your ceremony and reception all in one venue? Will you have an indoor or outdoor ceremony and what happens if the weather is less than ideal? Will you need to do a room flip and if so, where will you take pictures while the room is being transformed into your reception space? For Kelsey and Matt, they held both their ceremony and reception at the Northwood Club. With it being Summer in Texas, they decided to use part of the ballroom for their ceremony space and then flip it for the reception. They draped the back wall and had beautiful tall floral arrangements placed behind them on the alter. This was later repurposed to where the cake would go and the floral was placed on the tables. This is a great way to get multiple uses out of the floral and the space. What happens with your family photos afterward while the ceremony space is getting flipped into the reception space? Well, this is when a first look is a fantastic option. This way you get to see each other before the ceremony and you can have all of your family photos done before the ceremony and you won’t have to worry about trying to take photos in the middle of a room transformation!
