Bridal Portraits at The Olana
Why can bridal portraits be beneficial? There are so many great reasons to do a bridal session before your wedding day. First of all, you get to wear your dress more than once and who doesn’t love that? If you think about it, you’re probably really only putting your dress on at your alterations appointments and probably not going full Monica Gellar and wearing it around your apartment. During your alterations appointments, you don’t have much opportunity to walk around and really notice how your dress fits over several hours. At your bridal portrait, you are walking and moving and really getting a feel for how the dress is fitting. This will allow you to notice anything that needs to be addressed before the wedding day.
A bridal session also allows you to see how your wedding day hair and makeup will photograph so that you can make any tweaks or changes and look absolutely perfect on your big day. Grace chose to have her hair up and she looked absolutely gorgeous but she decided that she would rather have her hair down for the wedding day.
It can give you an excuse to have your photos taken at a dream location or just somewhere that’s different than your wedding day venues. Grace told me she has always loved the Olana and really wanted to have photos taken there, so that’s where we did her bridal portraits! Sometimes you may have a dream venue in mind, that isn’t practical for your actual wedding, so why not use it for bridal portraits?
In addition to all of this, bridals are just plain fun. They make for a great girls day with your mom, bridesmaid, sister or whoever you want! Let it be a day of pampering.
