Katie and Leo were one of those couples that you just absolutely have a blast with. Their wedding at Robert Carr Chapel and the Petroleum Club Ft. Worth was filled with some very special moments, especially with their parents. Katie’s dad had all of us laughing the whole day and I just loved the sweet moments they shared together during their Father-Daughter dance. It definitely made me cry. They also had some cute getting away vehicles that were unique to them. A fun, bright red trolley car took them around during the day, and then at night a big red fire engine picked them up for their exit. Definitely one of my favorite moments throughout the day! These two really had some great vendors, like Bliss Bridal and we rocked out to the Signature Band at the reception. I really enjoyed getting to know these two and I feel as though I went out with a bang as this will be my last wedding with Lightly. I wish them all of the best! This week I had the pleasure of photographing this squishy little 5 day old baby named Elijah Layne. He was born a perfect 8lbs 11oz and 21 inches last week. He is such a blessing to his parents, Korey and Macie and I just love being able to cuddle up on him and give him smooches. These two are so excited to be parents, they could not stop smiling as I took pictures of him. They didn’t even know he was going to be a boy until he was born and the anticipation was killing them! He is perfect. Here are a few of my favorites from their newborn session at our Ft. Worth Studio.

Last weekend I hung out with an awesome couple. Katie and Leo are tying the knot in October and had such a cute engagement story. Since both of them enjoy playing golf Leo took them out to play at Mira Vista Country Club where Katie’s mom works. They played a couple of rounds and Katie could not figure out why Leo was going so slow! Then at the last hole she noticed a flag saying “Katie, Will You Marry Me?”. Then all of their family and friends popped out of the clubhouse as she said “Yes!”. These two were so sweet together and I definitely enjoyed getting to know them. Last week I photographed a wonderful little family. We met up in the stockyards. This family had never had their pictures taken, so it was a blast getting to photograph for them! Operation Love Reunited is a great local charity that we at Lightly Photography support. It allows military families to have their portraits done. I was able to meet up with the Ashliman family at DFW Airport for a very exciting reunification. Their daughters had no idea that their dad was coming into town for Christmas. As soon as he broke through the crowd the girls rushed to meet him and there were many smiles to be had. It really was a joy to be able to watch this family be reunited again after so long.

Alison and Alex had a mixing of the cultures at their wedding last week. The beautiful Hotel St. Germaine in Dallas was their backdrop which was perfect to describe Alison’s New Orleans/French background. These two had a small, but lovely wedding where it was really about the joining of their families and their cultures. To celebrate Alex’s Hispanic culture they decided to bring in a Mariachi Band for the end of the night. This was my favorite moment when the Mariachi Band came outside and began serenading the couple in the moonlight. It really was so romantic. Here are a few of my favorites from their wedding day.

It is so great to finally get to share this wedding! It has been a long time in the waiting Shannon and Craig booked me a year and a half ago while Craig was still deployed in Iraq. It was such a great day, and such a lovely couple! These two were engaged at Clark Gardens and thought it would be special to get married there as well. Boy was it a hot day though! The day went off without a hitch, only a few bug bites but lots of fun! Sissy’s Catering provided the awesome Harley Davidson inspired cakes, the beautiful flowers and the awesome BBQ. These two were such a cute couple, and so truely in love. It is my pleasure to share some of my favorites from their day. I wish them all the luck in the world!

Last weekend I met up with one sweet couple, Shannon and Craig. These two are tying the knot in May at Clark Gardens and I absolutely can’t wait! These two currently live in Iowa so they flew down for the weekend to spend some time with me at some of their favorite Dallas spots. We cozied up at the Arboretum and then some more urban places in Uptown. Last weekend I had the pleasure of photographing Janie & Kelly Skillman. These two tied the knot at First United Methodist Church in Ft. Worth and walked across the street for their reception at the YWCA. I loved photographing this couple because they could simply not take their eyes off of each other (not to mention their lips!). These two had a fabulous team of vendors like Shea Thielemann Events, Bliss Bridal Salon, and great band called Top with Absolute Entertainment. There were people out on the dance floor all night long! One of my favorite moments of the night was when Kelly surprised Janie with their honeymoon- Bora Bora! I hope you two are having a blast!
