OH MY GOODNESS!  These kids cracked me up, wore me out and sent me home smiling.  Last weekend my studio was filled with laughter and lots of cute valentines clad children for our themed mini sessions for the upcoming holiday.  I loved my Valentines set this year complete with a vibrant red and white Chevron backdrop with heart accents and a home made kissing booth.  It was actually really fun to make and I was super proud of myself for making it from some photo inspiration alone!  For a POP of color the AWESOME Tami Winn of Le Fleur Couture provided us with LOVE letters bursting with green flowers.  It was adorable and the perfect accent for our set!  These styled kids portrait sessions in Fort Worth are some of my favorite each year and I am stoked for the ideas I have up my sleeves for 2013!

Save the Date for Easter Mini Sessions coming MARCH 9th!  Last year we went bold and bright and this year we are going soft, subdued, yellow’s, grays, whites and pops of pastels with of course a live animal making an appearance!  Will it be bunnies or chicks???? We don’t know yet!

Nicole and Chad are another one of my past Bride and Grooms that choose to come play with me for a mini portrait.  Since they were married they have added this precious little man, Nash, to their family.  I just adored his sweet serious disposition and it was truly fabulous to catch up with a couple I cared so much about.  It was a perfect day in Fort Worth at the Van Zandt Cottage for their family portraits, even with the chill in the air.  It felt like FALL and that made me happy!  I hope I get to photograph this little guy many times to come so I can get to know him more.  Love you guys!

This week I had the pleasure of photographing this squishy little 5 day old baby named Elijah Layne. He was born a perfect 8lbs 11oz and 21 inches last week. He is such a blessing to his parents, Korey and Macie and I just love being able to cuddle up on him and give him smooches. These two are so excited to be parents, they could not stop smiling as I took pictures of him. They didn’t even know he was going to be a boy until he was born and the anticipation was killing them! He is perfect. Here are a few of my favorites from their newborn session at our Ft. Worth Studio.

I am SO excited about our fall portraits! Last year I missed out because I was on maternity leave with Gideon.  I have been plotting locations and a few props and it is making me think about my own families yearly photo and what on earth I will select for our holiday card.  We have a whole new line of cards this year I am in love with so I am not sure how I will choose.

This year we will be offering Fall Mini Sessions on select Saturdays and weekdays.  Available weekend dates are October 6th & 27th or November 17th.  October sessions will be photographed in Fort Worth near our studio and you may choose from rustic urban, bright urban or field/nature.  November 17th will be at Penn Farms at Cedar Hill State Park.  The farm has vintage barns, open fields, dirt roads and fence lines as well as beautiful trees.  Please note there is an additional cost for admission to the Farms, individuals over 12 are $7 each.  (The Farms rock and I may very well be doing my own family here this year.)

Hailey was such a little cutie. From her little dresses and her cowboy boots with pigtails to her big blue eyes. She turned 6 years old recently and so her momma, Cara wanted to get a few pictures of this sweet little girl. She definitely had a huge personality and loved to dance, so of course we had to capture that! Her auntie Adrianne from Turquoise Productions also tagged along for the fun. Last weekend we had so much fun shooting Easter themed mini sessions that were filled with bold and bright colors! We had a fabulously styled set by Birds of a Feather Events and yummy treats for the kids to eat. It was so much fun having all the kids show their unique expressions and just having fun! Peepz, our resident bunny rabbit even had fun and was a definite hit! . We are so excited about our plans or upcoming mini’s as well. Stay tuned for information about an outdoor kids/family date next month just in time for Mothers Day! Operation Love Reunited is a great local charity that we at Lightly Photography support. It allows military families to have their portraits done. I was able to meet up with the Ashliman family at DFW Airport for a very exciting reunification. Their daughters had no idea that their dad was coming into town for Christmas. As soon as he broke through the crowd the girls rushed to meet him and there were many smiles to be had. It really was a joy to be able to watch this family be reunited again after so long.
