Kelly & Andrew – Engagement Session at Sundance Square & Airfield FallsFort Worth, TX

Kelly and Andrew are a great match! They’re getting married next spring and I am super excited for the two of them. Here’s a little bit about the couple in their own words:

“Andrew and I met in college at Texas A&M at the end of our freshmen year through a friend of friend. We started texting back and forth over the summer. He asked me to Midnight Yell (an Aggie tradition) and we’ve basically dated since then…Andrew did a great job with the proposal. He took me out to dinner under the pretense of seeing a play in Dallas (we tend to see a play a year, so I thought nothing of it). After dinner, he surprised me by taking me to the Dallas Botanical Gardens. He had a friend blocking off a quiet row of trees and walked me down an isolated path and asked for my hand in marriage”

Kristen & Preston – Engagement Portraits at Waterfall and Art MuseumsFort Worth, TX

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Kristen and Preston.  They are so incredibly precious and I had such a fun time getting to know them and their sweet pups!  Since Preston plays baseball, it gives them the opportunity to travel and go on little adventures to create great memories.  I love how they describe their relationship and how they spend their time together.

“While we are together during the baseball season, we love to find local places to eat as well as fun little trips to trails or beaches. At home in Fort Worth we still spend a lot of time going to our favorite spots to eat and fostering dogs. I did not grow up with dogs in my house so I used to have kind of a superficial understand of dogs and their behavior (good or bad). But now through the work we do and the dogs we meet, I see lots of dogs that open up and love life in the right situation.
We have been to Cabo, Breckenridge, and a cruise through the Caribbean for vacations!” -Preston

“I agree with everything Preston said! I have traveled to over 12 states watching Preston play baseball so we have gotten really good at Yelp. We have found so many fun little places to adventure to. Those are some of the best memories I have with him. We took our dogs to the beach in Michigan one summer. Looking back on it, it is so random but that is what minor league life gives you on an off day. When we are in Fort Worth, Preston is incredible about helping me follow my life long dream to help rescue homeless dogs. He supports the dogs and me in so many ways. He is the best foster dad! We also love a good night with all our dogs, netflix, and a bottle of wine!” – Kristen

I am so excited for their wedding in November.  It is sure to be absolutely amazing!

Wendy & Aaron – Engagement Session at Airfield Waterfall and Modern Art MuseumFort Worth, TX

I’ve known Aaron & Wendy for a little while now and I’ve been able to see their relationship grow from the start. With that said, I was super excited when they told me they were engaged and even more excited when they asked me to take their engagement photos. They are a perfect pair! They were great together when adventuring down rock walls and through cold water with me (to get the right shot!), even though it was pretty chilly outside. I am looking forward to photographing them on their wedding day!

Claudia & Patrick – Engagement Session at Japanese Gardens and Airfield WaterfallFort Worth, TX

How adorable are Claudia and Patrick??  Just the cutest, if you ask me!  One thing I like about Texas Decembers is that it still looks like fall!  We got ALL of the fall colors during their engagement session and it was absolutely fabulous.  Claudia and Patrick met while working together about 3 years ago.  Patrick is now in school in Alabama so they are having to do long distance for now.  They love traveling together so Patrick proposed to Claudia while they were on a trip to Canada. Here is their proposal story in her own words:

In order to appropriately celebrate our summer together in 2017, we decided to take a long weekend trip together to Canada. We found a good flight sale, and being the travel aficionados we are, a trip to Ottawa and Montreal was the perfect end to a great three months of being in the same city. Patrick was insanely sneaky, and it should be known that I had NO IDEA the entire time that he was planning everything in the background. We had dinner reservations (not suspicious since once again, we were celebrating the end of the summer), and Patrick suggested we stop by this university campus on our way to dinner. McGill University, is what I would describe as the “Harvard of Canada”. It is old-style, historical, “Hogwarts-y”, and filled with pretty flowers. We walked around in massive circles because Patrick wanted to find this one cool entrance. We were on vacation, and I was super relaxed, so the fact that we were for some reason walking in circles to find this one particular spot didn’t even seem to bother me or raise any sort of questions. When we finally found the entrance, we walked together up this long walk-way to the main building with a beautiful flower garden in front that looked like a heart (really it was McGill’s crest, but it looked like a heart to me). When we got to the top, Patrick got down on one knee, and despite the fact that I think I blacked out in shock and unfortunately couldn’t tell you the exact words that came out of his mouth, it was the sweetest and most beautiful question he has ever asked me. Of course, after multiple “omg’s” and tears, I said yes!

They will be getting married next year and I cannot wait for their big day!  It is sure to be a blast!

Patricia & Jacob – Engagement Session at Airfield Waterfall and Japanese GardensFort Worth, TX

Oh my good gracious!! Patricia and Jacob are the absolute cutest!  I can’t even express how much fun I had with these two.  We started early in the morning which I don’t normally get to do but it ended up being just perfect.  Patricia and Jacob have so much chemistry and were complete naturals in front of the camera.  They were giggly, kissy, sweet and just plain CUTE.  I cannot wait for their wedding next year!

Hollis & Joe – Engagement Session at Shady Oaks Country Club and Trinity Trails WaterfallFort Worth, TX

My goodness Hollis and Joe are so cute!  And so much fun!  For their engagement session we started out at Shady Oaks Country Club, where Hollis’ family are members.  Joe is also really into golf, so it was incredibly fitting.  I loved getting to hang out with these two.  The whole session was full of smiles and laughter and was just too fun.  We finished up over at the waterfall on Trinity Trails where we got to do a little climbing.  I’m always so happy when my couples are willing to be a little adventurous and climb around barefoot on rocks and through water with me.  It makes for some pretty amazing photos!  I cannot wait for these two to get hitched in April.  I have no doubt that it will be a great party!

Molly and Sha – Engagement SessionWaterfall and Grassy Fields - Fort Worth, TX

Lightly Photography 2016 https://lightlyphoto.comHoly moly the chemistry between these two is crazy!  I loved getting to spend the afternoon with Molly and Sha.  They are so much fun to be around and incredibly natural in front of the camera.  I mean, I barely had to direct them at all.  They are getting married in less than two weeks and I cannot wait!  So be sure to check back because I have no doubt there wedding photos will be nothing short of amazing!

Meghan & Shawn- Engagement at Rahr Brewery & Trinity Trails

Fort Worth Engagement Session Rahr Brewery Trinity Falls Lightly Photography by Sarah Rizy-0019

It is always an honor when another wedding vendor chooses you to photograph their wedding and I am so excited for Meghan & Shawn’s wedding in April. I’ve known Meghan through the wedding industry for the past few years and had met Shawn a few times at events but I loved their engagement session bc I got to know them as a couple and see how they interacted. They wanted to go somewhere significant to their relationship so we started the session at Rahr Brewery. When Meghan & Shawn first started dating they would surprise each other with day dates and Rahr Brewery is where one of their first dates took place. We then went to the waterfall off Trinity Trails which sadly was more of just a trickle this time of year. Here are some of my  favorites from their Fort Worth engagement.

Robin and Mike – Engagement Portraits at Van Zandt Cottage and Trinity Trails Fort Worth

Engagement Session Van Zandt Cottage Trinity Trails Waterfall Amanda McCollum Lightly Photography Robin Mike-0005

Oh man am I excited about this session!  Robin and Mike are just the cutest.  They met at TCU and you know how much I love my fellow Horned Frogs.  We started out over at Van Zandt Cottage and they were making each other giggle and laugh and being super sweet.  We then headed over to the waterfall area that I love SO much off of Trinity Trails.  There, we got somewhat adventurous getting to a really awesome spot, walking through some not so great looking water.  We were joking that we may all grow webbed feet or something.  I had such a great time with these two and I can’t wait for their wedding in January to take place at UCC and Fort Worth Club. Please enjoy some of my favorites from their Fort Worth engagement session.
