There is a special kind of magic in a home that has just welcomed a new baby, and Matthew and Kristin’s was full of it when we met their firstborn, sweet baby Barron. We spent the session right where their story was unfolding — at home — soaking in the quiet, tender first days with their new little one.
An in-home lifestyle session is all about capturing life exactly as it is in this season: the snuggles, the sleepy yawns, the way new parents look at their baby like the whole world just got brighter. We kept everything relaxed and unhurried, letting the day move at its own gentle pace.
Because the session fell right around their wedding anniversary, Matthew and Kristin decided to share a slice of their anniversary wedding cake while we photographed — a sweet, spur-of-the-moment way to mark the occasion that made the day feel even more meaningful. There is something so lovely about celebrating a marriage and a brand-new baby all in one afternoon.
