Judith + Shane
Saint Patrick Cathedral in Fort Worth, Texas
If you’re wanting to incorporate some personal touches into your wedding day, it can be fun to think outside the box (or Pinterest) and find truly unique ways to pay homage to your favorite people, places and pastimes.
In Judith’s case, while she opted not to wear her mother’s dress, she instead took it as inspiration and had a gown customized with nods to the original, including removable sleeves she took off after the ceremony, to dance away at her summer reception. This allowed her to find a gown that suited her taste and needs, while also honoring family tradition.
Since Shane is a huge history buff, Judith actually found an artist that uses wood scavenged from ship wrecks to craft wedding rings! How cool is that? The result is not only beautiful, but so unique and special. Absolutely perfect for her Phd-to-be.
While many couples think about a fun exit vehicle for their reception, in this case, the couple went with a classic car to take them from their church to nearby City Club. Not only did this make for great backdrop for romantic portraits of the two of them, but it also insured they’d get a little extra alone time. And, it’s a wonderful nod to olden days, when couples often did their official send-offs straight from the church’s steps.
