Mariel and Stephen wanted their guests to have a great and memorable time at their winter wedding. So they included lots of personalized touches, and festive details. While the wedding party took a few photos inside, guests enjoyed custom cocktails named for the couple’s three pups, and live mariachi music in the 4 Eleven’s gorgeous courtyard.
Then, before their epic dance party of a reception kicked off, they shared a sweet first dance to a song close to their heart, one written by the band Flatland Cavalry, which is led by one of their dear friends and groomsmen. Seeing him serenade his friends was such a sweet moment!
After dancing with their parents, it was time for the party to begin. And let me tell you, The Royal Dukes kept the dance floor packed! I had no idea Stephen had so many moves up his sleeve. Watching him and his groomsmen’s impromptu dance off was a blast. In fact, he and Mariel hardly left the dance floor except for a quick donut and cheesecake break!
Before their send off, they had a romantic last dance under the twinkle lights. Then guests said farewell with sparklers and well wishes. Only, it wasn’t so much a goodbye as a “See you really soon!” since most of the wedding party headed with them to a nearby bar to start the after party.
I love how Mariel and Stephen made their wedding day totally their own, and how much fun they had in the process. I’m so glad I could be there to take part in the epic party and beautiful celebration they threw!
