Including family heirlooms into your wedding day can help honor your loved ones and keep them close to you on the best day of your life. We’ve seen this done in so many ways, each one special and unique to each person. I’ve seen grandma’s handkerchief or lace from mom’s dress tied around the bouquet, a piece of dad or grandpa’s tie sewn into the inside of your dress. I’ve seen six-pence coins that have been handed down to all of the bride’s in the family for generations, watches given to sons that belonged to grandpa and great-grandpa. I’ve even seen a traditional Swedish crown worn by every woman in the bride’s family and I’ve photographed an invitation suite on the bride’s family silver tray’s. Megan chose to actually wear her mother’s wedding dress but still made it her own by altering the sleeves and the neckline to her taste. She even had a garter made from the leftover material. What a special way to honor her momma! Whatever object it is that holds special meaning to you, there are so many ways to make sure it’s a part of your wedding. Just make sure you let us know what it is so that we can get photos of it!
