Carter Ann & Michael – Engagement at the Dallas Arboretum & White Rock LakeDallas, Texas

These two met in high school but it wasn’t until Michael returned from his deployment to finish school at Texas Tech did they start dating!  I loved getting to know them during their engagement session!  Here’s how Michael popped the question:

My family used to ranch out in West Texas and I have a cousin who still lives there with his wife and 2 adorable kids. We’re all really close and go out to visit any chance we get. As a little girl I’d always go explore the sand hills and look for arrowheads. We went to go visit over 4th of July weekend and we all went out to the old ranch to drive around. We stopped at my old sand hills and decided to go hunt for arrowheads. As we climbed to the top Michael pointed over my shoulder and asked if that looked like and old Indian dugout, when I turned back around he was down on one knee! It was almost 10 years to the day after we’d met.

Can’t wait for their wedding next year!

Sarah & Matthew – Reception at the Dallas ArboretumDallas, Texas

If you haven’t heard of Molly from Pop Parties, you are missing out!  She helped coordinate Sarah & Matthew’s day so that it would run smoothly.  Not only does a coordinator help a couple’s dream come to reality, but they allow the other vendors, including myself, to work efficiently and help everyone follow the schedule!  It is always a pleasure working with great vendors!

These two had a very sweet first dance followed by open dancing where everyone was showing off their dance moves.  Check out some of my favorite moments from Sarah & Matthew’s reception!

Sarah & Matthew – First Look & Ceremony at the Dallas ArboretumDallas, Texas

I had the opportunity to get to know these two during their engagement session a few months back in Dallas.  Engagement sessions are a great time for me to get to know my couples, how they met, and what they do for fun but during their session they kept asking questions about ME!  This blew me away and was just the start of getting to know their sweet and generous characters.  I knew their wedding day would be one full of laughter and joy!  These two chose to do a first look in one of the gardens at the Arboretum, and it was nothing short of great!  We had a lot of fun snapping some pictures before the wedding around some of the pretty places in the Arboretum.  They said “I Do” under a beautiful arbor decorated with flowers that one of their dad’s made.  The sun setting, the arbor, and the lush garden set the scene for their happy ceremony.  Check out some of my favorite moments from the first part of their day!

Karina-Bridal Portraits at Dallas Arboretum

Lightly Photography 2015

From the day I met Karina she had her heart set on doing her bridal portraits at a garden. As the day of her portraits was approaching we were in the midst of non stop rain. We made a back up plan but luckily the day of her portraits the rain held off right until I was driving away from the Dallas Arboretum. I loved that her gown was completed with a veil handmade by her mother. Here are some of my favorites from her bridal portraits. Lightly Photography 2015 Lightly Photography 2015 Lightly Photography 2015 Lightly Photography 2015 Lightly Photography 2015 Lightly Photography 2015 Lightly Photography 2015 Lightly Photography 2015 Lightly Photography 2015

Sabrina & Drake {Engaged} at Dallas Arboretum and Arts District!

I spent a beautiful afternoon in Dallas recently with Sabrina and Drake walking around the Arboretum and the Dallas Arts District. It is the perfect time of year when the leaves are changing colors and it’s not too cold or hot. Sabrina and Drake chose to have part of their session in the Arts District since the church her parents and grandparents got married in was right downtown. We of course had to do some photos in front of their church to honor her family. Here are some of my favorites from their Dallas engagement session.
