Sweet, curious, and officially one — Kollyns came into our Fort Worth studio to celebrate her first birthday, and she brought all of her personality with her.
Her big brother joined in for some sibling portraits, and the two of them together were the best kind of fun. Kollyns also took the chance to show off her newest tricks — standing tall and taking those wobbly, proud first steps right there in the studio.
Then came the moment every first birthday needs: the smash cake. Hers was simple and sweet, ivory icing with delicate pink detailing and a single number-one candle on top. Kollyns was hesitant at first, studying it carefully — but once she discovered how sweet that icing was, she was all in.

We first had the joy of photographing Kollyns’ parents, Ashtyn and Hayden, on their wedding day at Hotel Drover — and there is nothing we love more than growing right alongside our couples as their families grow. Watching this family add two little ones has been such a gift.
