I was so excited last week to meet Jessica and Bryant. I had spoken with Jessica several times over the phone in the last few months talking in preparation for their wedding. Jessica & Bryant met when they lived in Arlington and are now currently out in San Diego since Bryant is in the Marines. They have been planning their wedding from afar and am so excited to photograph it this upcoming weekend at The Piazza in the Village.  They wanted to show off their city and country sides so we started in Downtown Fort Worth and then went back to Bryant’s parent’s house where they have a beautiful six acres of land that includes chickens. I was especially excited about the chickens! Here are some of my favorites from their engagement session.

One of my favorite things is photographing families who make each other laugh all the time. The Mauk Family was just that! We had a blast just shooting around our studio. Shannon bought her in laws a family portrait as a Christmas gift because they hadn’t had an updated one in a while. It was great getting to meet this family and joke around with them! Amy and Jeff were some of my first wedding clients. These two are having their second baby, and I am so thrilled for them. They live out in Louisiana now but came all the way to Ft. Worth to have their portraits done with their son Nathan. I haven’t seen Nathan since he was a baby so it was great to get to see him all grown up! He is going to be a great big brother. Carson is ONE!  I love photographing this awesome milestone.  We played with balloons, smashed a cake and I had a work out chasing this rambunctious toddler around our studio.  Happy Birthday Carson!

Rebecca and Sean were married last week with a petite afternoon affair at the beautiful Marty-Leonard Chapel with a small dinner at Grace after wards. They chose their wedding date, 12.29 because both of their parents had gotten married on that date. What are the chances? So of course they had to have their wedding on that day, even though it was a Thursday. Their wedding was very beautiful with lovely pink and purple flowers by Dietra at Lush Couture. My favorite part was spending time with them between their wedding and reception and we went to all their favorite Ft. Worth spots. Flying Saucer, where they had their first date-we even got to sit on the same couch they had shared! It was a great way to end the year and my last wedding! Operation Love Reunited is a great local charity that we at Lightly Photography support. It allows military families to have their portraits done. I was able to meet up with the Ashliman family at DFW Airport for a very exciting reunification. Their daughters had no idea that their dad was coming into town for Christmas. As soon as he broke through the crowd the girls rushed to meet him and there were many smiles to be had. It really was a joy to be able to watch this family be reunited again after so long.
